I was born in Sarov, Russia in 1976. I have received a formal education in fine and applied arts in Russia, but for most of my active career, I have worked in Denmark. My art is indebted to the eastern European tradition for excellence in artistic execution and love for the naturalistic motive. However, a Scandinavian influence is apparent in all my works; a northern mood with a more gloomy light, and the exploration of the shadowland between mind and matter characterize many of my works – perhaps most clearly my portraits.
